It’s flipping freezing outside! Just look at our beautiful Dutch Barn wearing a full coat of frost.
With cold weather comes risks, so be sure to stay safe in these icy conditions with our little guide.

- If journeying on foot use pavements on main roads which will be less slippery. Wear comfortable, practical footwear with extra grip.
- Clear any slippery paths outside your own home with salt. You can use ordinary salt or dishwasher salt. A tablespoon can be used for each square metre.
- Stay up to date with weather warnings in your area.
- It is always advisable to avoid driving in icy conditions. If you must drive look well ahead for potential hazards. Drive slower and smoothly to avoid skidding, using a higher gear makes it easier to find traction.
- Layer your clothing for warmth, comfort and protection. Wear a water-resistant outer layer to protect against the cold and wet conditions. Don’t forget a woolly hat and gloves.
Stay safe out there!
