Sandra Odogu

Wellbeing practitioner

What’s your background?

I went to Art School as a mature student, but my background has always been in the voluntary sector - communications, public relations etc. I qualified as a person-centred counsellor in 2010.

What do you do?

Along with the rest of the wellbeing team, I deliver our core courses ie., Anxiety Management and Lifting Mood and Raising Self Esteem. I take a particular interest in creative courses and workshops. I also facilitate a peer support training programme.

What do you love about your role?

Seeing the change that happens in people. Sometimes what seems like baby steps to others is massive for them, it gives hope that change can continue to happen in their future.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

My passion is dancing. Earlier in the year, I started going to Latin and ballroom classes which I love. I also love watching films and going to the theatre, rooting around markets and charity shops looking for bargains, and spending time with my family.
