Tracy Aston
Sessional wellbeing practitioner
What’s your background?
I have a background in writing and first got involved with the Wellbeing Centres by running creative projects. I ran an arts programme for another mental health service before joining the Wellbeing Centres staff team.
What do you do?
I run some of the wellbeing courses and Zoom sessions and facilitate the Volunteer Gardeners at Dutch Barn. I also write articles for Upbeat Liverpool informing people of the latest events in the local area.
What do you love about your role?
I love seeing people begin to relax in a group as they realise they’re in a safe, supportive space where they won’t be judged. And then there’s the reward of helping people to understand their mental health and become enabled to take more control over their symptoms and their lives. Seeing people become more confident again is fab. I’m very fortunate to be able to work in a green space.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love being outdoors - walking, cycling, or gardening. When indoors I like to paint – arty-wise not decorating-wise!
