Back in May, PSS held their annual 'Brillies Awards' to celebrate those members of staff who we feel are brilliant at what they do. Claire was nominated by her team mates for 'Star of The Year Families and Communities' and we're delighted to announce that she WON!!!

Here's what the nomination said................

"We are really lucky to have Claire on our team. Not only is she a wellbeing practitioner informed by her own experience of mental health challenges, she is brilliantly creative, with a background in journalism, creative arts and illustration. Claire brightens everyone's day with her positivity and cheerfulness, she loves her job and people love working with her.

Whilst our team have always known she is a star, others in the organisation are beginning to notice. Over the last year she has been working with the Communications Team and People we support to refresh our wellbeing website Upbeat Liverpool. The result is fantastic with Claire using her creativity produce flyers and blog posts to help people manage their mental health. She has interviewed and co-produced blog posts with people we support so that the site is jampacked full of stories of personal experience. She's brilliant at encouraging people to step out of their comfort zone to write, join in, be photographed for the website.

Lisa and Rachel said this about her, "We love working with Claire and both think she's really lovely and talented at what she does. We would love her to be on our team and would 100% attempt to steal her if there was ever an opportunity to do that!"

Her brilliantness at working together has also been noticed by Parent and Baby Peer Support Team with Claire delivering art sessions to Mums and Babies, supporting them to create wonderful mother and child self-portraits. The whole group loved Claire and she's been invited to return again.   She also works brilliantly with Local Arts organisations and has bagged free and discounted tickets for events at theatres, Art Galleries and museums across Liverpool for the people we support. Allowing people who would not necessarily be able to afford tickets, to enjoy, appreciate and feel connected to each other and to our wonderful city and its culture!

Claire is the most friendly and welcoming person, always providing a friendly and enthusiastic welcome to people who attend the service, to students on placement and to people on the telephone. She is so Kind genuine and thoughtful to her colleagues, the first to celebrate things, to say thank you and to say sorry. She has sourced food parcels in a discreet way for people we support who are experiencing poverty and Is always the first to create a hamper at Christmas for the homeless. She has come in at the weekend to paint the rooms at the Umbrella Centre so they can be inviting for the people who attend the service. She goes out of her way to help others.

She is honest about her own mental health challenges hoping that it encourages people she supports to see that things can get better. She is a shining example of hope to people in their darkest of times.

She is most worthy of Families and Communities Star of the Year Award"

Well done Claire!
