Stretching between 2 magnificent cathedrals, Hope Street is full of stunning buildings and sculptures which span the years since the development of the area during the 18th century. It is probably the only walking tour which mentions urinals and classical composers in the same sentence! We will discover the history of the street and learn about some of the characters who lived and worked here.

Starts: In front of the Metropolitan Cathedral , Mount Pleasant, Liverpool L3 5TQ

Start Time: 5.45 pm for 6pm start

Finishes: Junction of Hope St and Upper Duke St, near Liverpool Anglican Cathedral

Finish Time: Approximately 7.30pm

The route is along level pavements with some cobbled side streets

The Bluecoat: Print Studio Open Day

Sat 22 Apr, 11am-4pm. Drop in.

Join us as we open our beloved Print Studios to the public for guided tours and print taster sessions. Our print studio manager, Ivy, will be on hand to answer all your printmaking questions and you’ll also be able to find out about our new Bluecoat Artist Membership.

For a small donation, you’ll be able to pull your own print to take home in our mini screen printing demonstrations. In our Intaglio studio, we will be answering questions about the traditional process of Etching and how we are actively pursuing non toxic alternatives to traditional materials.

If you are interested in trying your hands at printmaking, wanting to check out our facilities or just want to speak to someone in person about becoming a studio user then come along between 11am-4pm.

We will have hourly tours, which start on the hour at the front desk. You don't need to book, just turn up.

Also on that weekend, stop by the Liverpool Print Fair at the Bluecoat and pick up a unique print by a variety of artists from across the country. Sat 22 and Sun 23 Apr, 11am-5pm
