"Hi there ukulelists,
Thanks to everyone who attended this week’s fun packed strumbrellas session.
We opened up with a very ‘oldie but goldie’, ‘2 chorder’ ‘We’ve got the whole world in our hands’. A jaunty little tune which warmed our fingers up nicely.
We did spend a lot of time this week discussing final arrangements for recording our individual parts for ‘Lockdown Blues’. It is a complicated process, as you can probably imagine, but hopefully we all now know how to go about it, and with any luck we will get there in the near future.
Following on from a suggestion in earlier weeks to play a light hearted comedy song, Richard suggested, and led, ‘I’m the Urban Spaceman’ by The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band (what a great name!). This went so well we agreed to spend some time practising it at home this week. Next week it should be even better and could even be included in upcoming set lists.
If anyone wants to attend next week’s session and hasn’t been at ’Strumbrellas’ for a while please feel welcome to dust down your ‘uke’, polish up your chord changes and even give the ‘Urban Spaceman’ a run through if you like.
