There is an abundance of reasons to love creativity. The joy of crafting and constructing something which is purely reflective of your imagination. The pure escapism of it all, not even noticing time slip away as you turn an idea into something tangible. Something memorable. A little creation you can take away and keep.

It’s no secret that creative outlets carry a whole host of therapeutic benefits too. One of the most noticeable effects is called ‘the state of flow’ – this is when you’re completely immersed and absorbed in the creative process that you find your worries and woes seem to drift away. Very helpful if you find yourself in need of some escapism or a well-deserved break.

Creativity, as a form of self-expression, can also help us process different feelings or emotions. Art can be used almost like a contemplation tool, giving us space and time to reassess problems and even regulate emotions. The social element is also crucial, active engagement and participation while crafting alongside others, forms positive connections and bonds. So, when looking at art as a wellbeing activity, it has a lot to offer on its palette.

Journey Through Art is a Be Well course (for people who have used our service for under a year) but sometimes has spare spaces for those under the Stay Well service (people who have used our service for over a year.)
